  • Follow the proper sequence for venting and pumping down a vacuum chamber using manual controls.
  • Perform hands-on assembly and disassembly of common flange types (QF, ISO, ConFlat), including correct use of elastomer O-rings and copper gaskets.
  • Evaluate system cleanliness and leak tightness using the rate-of-rise method.
  • Calculate the effective pumping speed and perform conductance calculations (including combined conductances).
  • Compare pump-down performance for clean vs. contaminated components to understand contamination effects in vacuum environments.
  • These training outcomes are essential for technicians and engineers working in semiconductor processing, thin-film deposition, plasma systems, cryogenics, surface analysis, and precision manufacturing.
